Are your items suitable for Mac users?

Sims 1 Furniture

Due to the 31 character filename limit, some of our objects may be missing the .iff extension, rendering them un-usable. To correct this problem we recommend The Sims Name Rectifier from Around The Sims:-

This free utility lets you batch process whole folders and adds the .iff extension. This tool does not affect the usability of objects which have skin files or which are coded to work cooperatively with other objects (i.e. cash register and its associated NPC cashier).

One of the most common side-effects however, of our over-long filenames, is the disappearing NPC's where their skin filenames fall outside the 31 character limit - read here if this is happening to you and you are looking for a solution.

 

Sims 1 Skins
We have unfortunately (and rather predictably) a lot of skins with lengthy filenames, to resolve this we recommend the Skin Shrinker Utility - the host site has unfortunately closed so there is no support available for this program. For batch processing new buyable skins the companion Skin Renamer and Mesh Renamer programs are a must, again from Around The Sims - free and easy to use!

 
Sims 1 Walls & Floors:
The vast majority of our walls and floors fall within the 31 character limit so can mostly be freely used by Mac users without issue. Certainly these can be easily renamed and won't affect the usability of the items!

 
Sims 2 Furniture & Skins
Our Sims 2 Furniture and Skins files are all Mac compatible to the best of our knowledge. If you experience a specific problem with any of our files which you feel relates to it being used on the Mac then please let us know, your assistance in looking for a resolution is obviously greatly appreciated as we have no method of investigating such problems ourselves!

 
Sims 2 Walls & Floors:
For some unfathomable reason the Mac version of The Sims 2 dislikes wall and floor files which are created to a non-standard size (i.e. walls that are not 256x512 and floors which are not 256x256), the result of which is that the file shows as a plain grey wall or floor. A large number of our files are made to a standard size and our creators are reminded to design to the standard layout where possible to increase the number of files that work as expected, if however you find a file you particularly like the look of doesn't work, please contact us (choose the @ button from the menu above) and let us know and we'll see about fixing it.
