Kate answers:-
We encourage
the redistribution of our link buttons to advertise our little
site. If you are looking for a link button to put on your site you
can find a selection plus hotlink codes here.
Our website URL is http://www.parsimonious.org
if you are linking back, we generally advise you not to link to
sub-sections within the site as these do change from time to time so
you may end up with a broken link except where specified in our
policies (i.e. linking to a furniture set page for meshes, or to our
Skins 2 Meshes page).

We are
very happy for you to re-use our preview photos to advertise our
updates, however these images are the property of Parsimonious and
will remain so even when posted to another website, group, forum
etc. If you wish to rescale or crop the image to suit your site's
layout then that is fine, but we ask that you refrain from making
other significant alterations to the images, such as adding text or
other graphics to the image which may detract from the items shown
in the preview or give the false impression that the image is the
property of your site. If you're not sure if
your alterations are too much then feel free to ask
before you publish - if your changes are
tasteful and not mis-leading then we'll probably
agree!
And
what about other web graphics, backgrounds, menus, icons etc?
Other
link buttons (i.e. ones that link to other sites) remain the sole
property of the sites they link to, we advise that you consult their
policies before re-using those images for your own purposes.
We do
not authorize the re-use of any images on this website which are not
Parsimonious link graphics or preview images of our material (as
stated above) for any purpose without express consent of the
administrator (Kate).
We also
do not authorize hot-linking to any resources on our server without
express consent of the administrator.
Violators
may be prosecuted. Seriously.
What
about the Maxis game icons?
Those
obviously do not belong to us but have been
extracted from The Sims 2 because they represent the
universal language of all Simmers - we use them in
order to make this website easy for any Simmer to
use no matter which language they understand.
Rather
than using our copies of these images you can
extract your own fresh copies for use on your
website using SimPE. You can get SimPE here:-
http://sims.ambertation.de/en//
To
open the UI package which contains all the game
icons you need to find the folder where the game is
actually installed, usually c:\ program files\EA
Games\The Sims 2\TS Data\Res\UI and then open the
ui. package, its a big file, click on the jpeg
entries in SimPE and it'll give you access to
everything for the game and Bodyshop. Most of it is
useless but with a little patience you should be
able to find most of them. If you've got expansion
packs installed, then each of those install folders
has a \TS Data\Res\UI folder which has another UI
package, most of those contain a lot of repeats but
the EP icons will be tucked away in there.
Our
Sims 1 icons are however our own designs, some are
based on the Simbats font which I'm afraid I don't
have a link for (try Google!) and as with our other
graphics we ask that you refrain from using those.
