Of course Sims have no debate that there are Aliens living amongst them, however, there has been fierce arguement in human society about the existence of intelligent life on other planets. Often those who are convinced by the idea of scentient life outside of our planet are dismissed as being a bit loopy, however theorists in centuries past have often been persecuted by their peers for theories about the nature of space and the universe which modern science has later proved to be true.
