During this period womens' clothing becomes increasingly more fitted just as mens' clothing had done in the preceding centuries, tailored gowns with elaborate head dresses and the introduction of make-up transformed the look of wealthy women. Multi-coloured and patterned clothing and fabrics became more common for both genders with the expansion of block printing techniques and luxurious outfits now had large scalloped sleeves, elaborate cuffs and buttons. The tunic, popular in previous centuries, became shorter, exposing the legs and pointed shoes or clogs which became fashionable after the 1450's. Tall felt hats also became a sort after accessory during this period.
